Who We Serve

In order to be considered for the program, potential clients must be:

  • Adolescent biological males, between the ages of 17-21 (younger than 17 requires a waiver), AND

  • Suitable for community-based Residential Transitional Living,

  • In the custody of the WV DoHS (no private referrals);

Steps 1, 2, and 3

Our program encompasses three distinct steps:

  1. Step 1 is our main house and is the starting point for all services at Stepping Stone, Inc. It is residential transitional living where clients build essential skills toward independence.

  2. Step 2 includes our on-grounds cabins (tiny homes) where clients who have successfully completed Step 1 further develop and practice independent living with support.

  3. Step 3 is the highest stage of transitional independent living (TIL) we support, with clients who have completed Step 1 or Step 2 moving into the community (dorms, apartment) with continued coaching and support as they move toward full independence. Clients in this program may be up to 26 years old.
